This year, Taiwan welcomes the Automatic Speech Recognition and Understanding (ASRU) workshop, an influential event under the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), scheduled for December 16 to 20 in Beitou, New Taipei City.
Taiwan takes pride in hosting ASRU 2023. The joint efforts of Academia Sinica, National Tsing Hua University, and the Association for Computational Linguistics of Taiwan highlight the country’s active role in global technological development.
The workshop’s organization is led by a team of General Chairs: Yu Tsao and Hsin-Min Wang from Academia Sinica, Taiwan, alongside Chi-Chun Lee, Professor at National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan.
Celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Signal Processing Society, part of IEEE, ASRU 2023 also serves as a moment to reflect on the evolution of signal processing technology. From its nascent stages 75 years ago to today’s expansive landscape, this society has been important in shaping the field.
ASRU 2023 stands out as a beacon of technological advancement, especially at a time when artificial intelligence and speech technology are revolutionizing daily life. The workshop aims to explore new horizons in these domains, backed by ongoing investments from leading tech giants.
This year's workshop will take place in Beitou, well-known for its hot springs and the nearby National Palace Museum. We are also eager to introduce Taiwan’s nature and culture to the international academic community.
